BBC Radio 3 Artist Spotlight: Olena Tokar

Lunchtime concert

Olena Tokar

Olena Tokar, a former finalist in BBC Cardiff Singer of the World, introduces us to her musical inspirations, as part of BBC Radio 3’s This is Rattle celebrations.

In this recital, she takes us through a programme of vivid, evocative songs. We enter the Romantic world of Robert Schumann, journey through works by Russian composers Rachmaninov and Medtner, and take an in-depth look at Pauline Viardot-Garcia, one of the most influential singers and performers of the 19th century and a composer of nearly 200 songs.

Recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on 27 September
