Following the success of the Barbican’s Our Time on Earth exhibition, we sit down with George Monbiot and Marta Lowcewicz, as they share their passion for plants, nature, and soil.

Writer, journalist and environmental activist George Monbiot believes that soil should be as revered as the Great Barrier Reef; a belief he discusses extensively in his new book Regenesis: Feeding the World Without Devouring the Planet.

Through collaborating with creative innovation studio, Holition, Monbiot’s work featured in the Our Time on Earth exhibition, where visitors are transported underground to experience the wealth of amazing organisms present in our soil.

This short video sees George and Marta take a stroll around the conservatory as they discuss the importance of soil, why it should be as revered as the Great Barrier Reef, and his recent collaboration with Holition.
