Captain Marvel 2D (12A)

Shot of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel

Eleven years after Iron Man took superhero films to new heights, get ready to meet to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, the first female Marvel superhero to lead a film.

Taking us back to the 90s, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes, and fights to protect Earth from an interstellar war.

She’s one of the Kree, a race of noble warriors who are at war with the Skrulls. When their war reaches Earth, she teams up with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) – and begins to uncover secrets from her past as strange, forgotten memories start coming back to her.

Twenty interconnected films have already been released, featuring many female superheroes; however, in a historic move, co-directors Anna Boden (It’s Kind of a Funny Story) and Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson), promote a female Marvel superhero to solo star.
