Chamber music is one of the most intimate experiences that art has to offer – and here two of its finest exponents perform some of the most passionate music ever written for cello and piano.

In Franck and Chopin, the emotions involved are anything but small-scale. And it takes artists of the prowess and insight of Yuja Wang and Gautier Capuçon to tear the heart out of these pieces.

‘It’s all about listening, how to respond and communicate through music’ says Wang – and whether they’re exploring the glittering world of Chopin or the tender poetry of César Franck, her partnership with Capuçon is a true pairing of equals. On a winter evening in the City, this really is music that glows from within.
