Mary Chapin Carpenter

+ Emily Barker

Mary Chapin Carpenter enjoying a lovely sit down in a lovely big field

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and Nashville Hall of Fame inductee Mary Chapin Carpenter performs songs from her album Sometimes Just The Sky.

A Mary Chapin Carpenter show always has an intimate feel, with her tender storytelling ability bridging the divide between audience and performer. Tonight she’ll look back at her favourite songs from her fruitful 30-year career, as she does on her latest record, due out in March 2018. Recorded in Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios and produced by Ethan Jones (Laura Marling), the album saw her team up with her long-time collaborator and guitarist Duke Levine and a host of handpicked musicians as she reflects on a lifetime in the business.

Opening the show is award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Emily Barker, who blends Country and English Folk with 60s Pop.
