A specially commissioned new work by jazz pianist David Helbock forms a delightfully unexpected centrepiece to this recital by the young Austrian-Persian cellist Kian Soltani.

Of course, that’s the whole point of the ECHO Rising Stars series – to find Europe’s most exciting new musical talent, and to let it strike sparks off diverse audiences and established voices. Kian Soltani has won a string of awards and has already signed to Deutsche Grammophon; The Guardian called him 'sublime'. But come and hear for yourself.
