A gripping historical drama from Palestine's foremost filmmaker Annemarie Jacir, tracing the escalating unrest as a unified country rises against British rule.

In 1936, Yusuf (Karim Daoud Anaya) drifts between his rural home and the ever-restless Jerusalem, facing an influx of Jewish immigrants escaping antisemitism in Europe. 

As the Palestinian population unites in the largest and longest uprising against Britain's 30-year dominion, all sides spiral towards an inevitable collision. A crucial moment in the history of the British Empire and the future of the entire region. 

Impressive in scale and scope, Palestine 36 deftly offers context, humanity and complexity to the history that we see unfolding today.
