After the Hunt (15)

A man sitting on a bus

An accusation tears through a college philosophy department in Luca Guadagnino's tense new thriller, starring Julia Roberts, Ayo Edibiri and Andrew Garfield.

Alma (Julia Roberts), a successful philosophy college professor who finds favourites amongst her students, has her life thrown into disarray when her latest star (Ayo Edibiri) accuses her intimate friend and colleague (Andrew Garfield) of sexual assault.

Taking a step away from the dreamy lemon groves of Call Me By Your Name or the sweat-slick courts of Challengers, After the Hunt is an edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller diving into the dirty corners of truth, lies, cancel-culture, snowflake-ness, and privilege. With most of the characters studying or working in philosophy, you can expect nuanced arguments, slippery straw-men and various logistical nightmares.

Also starring Michael Stuhlbarg as Alma's loyal yet honest husband, and Chloë Sevigny as another colleague in the mix.
