BCUC/Toyah Delazy/DJ SNO

Mohopolo/Ancestral Memory Weekend

An image of BCUC in black and white

BCUC's indigenous funk, hip-hop consciousness and punk rock energy collide with Toya Delazy's trailblazing Afrorave sound, pushing sonic and cultural boundaries.

A transcendent collaboration of heavy electronic and traditional beats. BCUC - Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness - and Toyah Delazy channel the visceral feeling of our grandfathers and grandmothers speaking life into a punk-rock, psychedelic, Hip-Hop and African sound. They will take the listener on an epic journey into Africa today, tapping into the spirit world of ancestors by which they are inspired. The Africa portrayed by this collaboration is not poor, but rich in tradition, rituals and beliefs.

DJ SNO brings an unshakable spirit of joy and vibes, nothing stands still on her dance floor. A genuine visionary of musical curation for those that want to dance and let loose.

Part of Mohopolo/Ancestral Memory Weekend curated by Abel Selaocoe.

This double bill is followed by a free ClubStage event with DJ SNO. Her record collection completely annihilates genre distinctions - expect jazz, funk, hip hop, footwork and Latin sounds alongside deep Amapiano selections.
