A year in Westminster with John Crace, Marina Hyde, Pippa Crerar and guests

Join the Guardian’s parliamentary sketch writer John Crace, columnist Marina Hyde and political editor Pippa Crerar, with special guests, as they cover another year of political highs and lows.

The year has been tough for Keir Starmer: his government has been mired in scandal and his party united only in its frustrations. And the big challenges facing the country aren’t going away. Meanwhile, endless drama in Reform hasn’t dented Nigel Farage’s party’s poll ratings one tiny bit. In fact, up they climb.

And across the pond, we have Donald Trump and his blizzard of executive orders, deal breaking with historic speed, and claims to have personally “solved” seven wars.

What else will the rest of the year bring?

Join Crace, Hyde and Pippa as they pick apart the madness and look back at all the political mishaps and decisions made in 2025. Plus, with a year that beggars belief, we’ll also be joined by surprise guests in this special event to help us understand what the hell is going on.

You can join this event in-person at the Barbican, Silk St, London EC2Y 8DS or via the livestream. Tickets are from £31 to attend the event in person, or £15 to watch it online. See tickets for further details.
