Celebrate London’s linguistic richness in this multilingual poetry workshop with poet and translator Stephen Watts.

Poet and translator Stephen Watts leads this inclusive poetry workshop celebrating the many languages spoken in London. Inspired by Swirl of Words / Swirl of Worlds – an anthology featuring over 100 poems in 94 languages spoken across Hackney – participants are invited to explore selected texts together and contribute their own poems, languages or reflections. Stephen Watts’ work is rooted in breath, place and plurality, and his poetry has inspired films, translations and anthologies across the UK and beyond.

Whether you speak a language featured in the book or want to bring something new to the circle, we invite you to get involved – all languages and voices welcome. This is a space to share, listen and connect through the diverse voices of the city.
