Renowned ambassadors of Palestinian culture, Le Trio Joubran return to the Barbican to celebrate their 20th anniversary with a special performance this November. Twenty Springs marks two decades of musical mastery, cultural storytelling and international acclaim.

Founded by brothers Samir, Wissam and Adnan Joubran, Le Trio Joubran has captivated audiences worldwide with their virtuosic oud playing, blending tradition with innovation.

For this anniversary tour—launched with a premiere at the Philharmonie de Paris where the trio were awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Officers) by the French Ministry of Culture—they will be joined on stage by a string quartet and world-class percussionists.

Twenty Springs embodies the trio’s poetic spirit, - each year embraced as a new spring, symbolising renewal, resilience and the timeless nature of their art. The performance will span the group’s wide-reaching repertoire, weaving original compositions with the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish and sounds that transcend borders, generations and genres.

Since their formation in 2005, Le Trio Joubran have redefined the global perception of the oud – a fretless string instrument. Their recordings and performances honour Palestinian heritage while forging a distinct and contemporary musical identity. This anniversary concert stands as a powerful testament to their journey, rooted in tradition, driven by passion, and resonating with audiences across the world.
