The Divine Comedy: Rainy Sunday Afternoon

Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 October 2025, 7.30pm

Barbican Hall

From £25, plus booking fee

The Divine Comedy return to the Barbican in support of their forthcoming orchestral pop album, Rainy Sunday Afternoon (Divine Comedy Records, due for release 19th September 2025). Returning for the first time since their five-night retrospective in 2022, Neil Hannon and band will perform tracks from their first studio album in over six years across two consecutive nights in the Barbican Hall on 11 & 12 October 2025.

Following the success of their last studio album Office Politics (2019) and Hannon's original songs for global blockbuster ‘Wonka’ (Paul King) in 2024, The Divine Comedy are back with a deeply personal album blending humour, melancholy, and orchestral grandeur. Recorded at Abbey Road and written, arranged, and produced entirely by Hannon, Rainy Sunday Afternoon reflects on themes of memory, mortality, and the chaos of modern life.

As The Divine Comedy embark on their October UK tour, fans can expect a special performance of captivating music and masterful storytelling in the Barbican Hall this autumn. Audiences will be treated to an evening filled with their signature storytelling, rich arrangements, and new music, including the recently released track Achilles. Known for his theatrical live performances, Hannon’s ability to mix wit, emotion, and impeccable musicianship makes this a must-see show for 2025.
