Janet Planet (12A) (AD)

Annie Baker's tender coming-of-age debut follows 11-year-old Lacie and her unconventional mother during the summer of 1991.

From Pulitzer winning playwright Annie Baker comes her debut feature film, in the form of this textured and intimate mother-daughter story.

Janet Planet is the tender coming-of-age drama that centres on lonely 11 year old Lacie and her unconventional single mother Janet as they navigate their complex relationship, whilst spending the summer of 1991 in rural Massachusetts.

The film portrays an honest and sometimes uneasy presentation of motherhood, and adolescence in all its rawness. Starring Julianne Nicholson and Zoe Ziegler.
