Contemporary Iranian folk band, Rastak interpret traditional music for the world stage. 

Formed as an experimental music group in 1997, Rastak are one of the most well known exponents of Iranian contemporary folk music. Through merging traditional instruments and forms with contemporary rhythms  and incorporating language , culture and history , the group seeks to collect, record and interpret Iranian folk music for a global audience.

In Farsi 'Rastak' means a newly born plant that grows at the bottom of a tree. Creating something stronger than what came before, Rastak the music group uses the roots of their history and culture to connect with audiences internationally.
