Lie With Me (15)

two boys walk down the street together, one pushing a bicycle

A buried, closeted love affair breaks through the soil in this deeply moving French tale based on Philippe Besson’s acclaimed novel.

A successful novelist returns to his hometown for the first time in 35 years, where he forms a touching relationship with the son of his first love.

Stéphane left behind the love of his life in their home town as a teenager, without looking back. When a job takes him home again, he meets a young man called Lucas, the son of his former lover.

In getting to know Lucas, the memory of Thomas and what they had together can no longer be left in the dark, as Lucas tries to learn the truth about his lost father through the man who truly loved him.

With stunning performances from Victor Belmondo and Guillaume de Tonquédec, this deeply moving and difficult drama weaves through time, confronting the changing attitudes in France towards homosexuality.
