Under the dappled Tunisian sun, young seasonal workers seek answers to age-old questions of love and lust in this dream-like feat of realism.   

Coming out of the Cannes Directors' Fortnite, and selected for BFI London Film Festival 2022, this intimate fiction debut from Erige Sehiri follows seasonal orchard workers in Tunisia as they work and play under the summer sun. 

Working with non-professional actors, and making stylistic choices inspired by her non-fiction background, Sehir's film is deliciously naturalistic, easing you into the trials and tribulations of all parts of contemporary Tunisian society. 

Under The Fig Trees is a deeply tender film about sisterhood, young love and the woes of live - a tale that touches on all hearts and all generations.
