Makers at the City Edge

A Barbican Library Foyer Exhibition

Six images by members of the art group Makers at the City Edge

Life at the City Edge is rich in opportunities for creativity.  At the urban fringe is an extraordinary mix of natural landscape, commerce and housing, roads, railways and canals.

Dramatic city views contrast with areas of wilderness and the legacy of an industrial past.  Alongside abandonment and neglect there is social regeneration, bringing new energy and dynamism.

It is this environment which is inspirational in bringing together six artists and makers.  Their ideas have been translated into a range of media including photography, ceramics, print, jewellery, painting and works on paper.

Please note that the library is closed on Sundays and will be closed for Easter from Friday 7 to Monday 10 April inclusive.
