Simon Armitage has published twelve full-length volumes of poetry, including Paper Aeroplane (Selected Poems), and a collection of his song lyrics, Never Good With Horses, is due out in spring 2023. He is a broadcaster, playwright, translator, novelist, the author of three best-selling volumes of non-fiction, and presents the BBC Radio 4 series and podcast The Poet Laureate Has Gone To His Shed. Armitage writes, records and performs with the band LYR (Land Yacht Regatta). His play The Last Days of Troy was performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, and over the past three decades he has received numerous accolades and prizes including an Ivor Novello Award for his song lyrics in the BAFTA-winning television film 'Feltham Sings'. The former Oxford Professor of Poetry, he lives in Yorkshire and is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds. Simon Armitage is the Poet Laureate.
