Set in 1950s Rio de Janeiro, two sisters Eurídice and Guida, strive to follow their dreams against a brutal patriarchal society

Adapted from Martha Batalha’s novel and directed by Karim Aïnouz, Invisible Life of Euridice Gusaao has been described as a ‘tropical melodrama’ with glorious saturated colours and heartfelt performances.

In 2019 the film screened in the Un Certain Regard strand at Cannes and left with the top prize and was put forward by Brazil as their entry to the 92nd Academy Awards.
