Phenomenal pianist Yuja Wang and the London Symphony Orchestra perform in a celebratory gala for conductor Michael Tilson Thomas's 70th birthday.

In a personal concert reflecting the achievements and nurtured relationships of Michael Tilson Thomas, Britain meets Russia with a nod to his native USA. Hear Colin Matthews's orchestral version of Hidden Variables, originally commissioned by the conductor himself, before frequent musical collaborator Yuja Wang pays tribute to Tilson Thomas with an effervescent performance of one of the few piano concertos written by an American composer. The festivities close with a barnstorming performance of Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony, showcasing the deep relationship between this orchestra and its Conductor Laureate and former Principal Guest Conductor.
