Weekend Lab: Cheek by Jowl

Ten people stand in various poses in front of a red wall which spells out 'vendetta'

Join Cheek by Jowl's associate Marcus Roche for an intensive weekend workshop in response to their production of The Revenger’s Tragedy.

Cheek by Jowl is the international theatre company of Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, producing work in several languages, including English, Italian and Russian.

Marcus Roche has trained and worked in Russia and has been with Cheek by Jowl for over five years as Assistant Director of The Winter's Tale, Périclès, Prince de Tyr, and lead workshop practitioner.

Through this intensive weekend workshop, you will gain insight into the key elements of Cheek by Jowl’s approach to acting, including working with text, movement, rehearsal exercises, character motivation and using ‘the space’. As part of the Lab, you will receive a ticket to the Friday evening performance on Fri 6 Mar. The Lab is suitable for students, emerging or mid-career actors, directors and theatre-makers, ages 18+. Some prep work in advance of the lab will be required.
