Jonas Kaufmann & Sir Antonio Pappano in recital

Pappano & Friends

A portrait of Jonas sitting on some stairs

Jonas Kaufmann, universally celebrated as ‘the world’s greatest tenor’ (Telegraph), joins his old friend Sir Antonio Pappano for an evening of song.

A magnificent range, a tone of molten gold and a charismatic intelligence that allows him to command any operatic stage on earth: there’s a reason why tenor Jonas Kaufmann is an operatic superstar. Sir Antonio Pappano understands him perhaps as well as any musician alive. Together, they’ve given some of the greatest performances of this century at the Royal Opera House, where Pappano is Music Director.

But this is even more personal: no costumes or orchestra here. ‘I see recital singing as something like a dialogue between the singer and the collaborative pianist’ says Kaufmann, ‘one which lives, in a manner of speaking, from the “poetry of the moment”’. Personal, spontaneous and intimate: this will be one of the hottest tickets of the year.

End-time to be announced nearer the event.
