George MacKay stands in the trench surrounded by explosions and other men

Sam Mendes directs a fantastic British ensemble cast in this completely captivating World War I epic.

Starring George MacKay (Captain Fantastic, Pride) and Dean-Charles Chapman (Game of Thrones, Blinded by the Light) as two soldiers who are tasked with crossing no-mans land and enemy lines in order to call off a British attack which could save thousands of lives.

This incredible drama and technical masterpiece sees Sam Mendes and legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins create what looks like a one-shot film as over the course of two hours the camera barely leaves the sides of the two protagonists. The ensemble cast includes Colin Firth, Andrew Scott, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch and Richard Madden.
