The Barbican Concert Hall is one of Europe's leading venues for orchestral and contemporary music events
The Barbican Concert Hall is available for artistic hire. The hire fee is as follows:
- financial year 2018/19 (venue only) £8375 + VAT
- financial year 2019/20 (venue only) £8550 + VAT
A deposit up to the value of the hire fee is required upon signature of contract.
The hall has a maximum capacity of 1949 divided between stalls, circle and balcony and is fully equipped with adjustable acoustic panels and a state of the art lighting rig. The 199.4 m² stage can hold up to 350 people and can be extended by 4ft or 8ft to accommodate necessary requirements.
We operate a priority booking system. The London Symphony Orchestra are resident at the Barbican Centre and they, along with our Associate Producers and the Barbican's own promotion programming, have priority for Hall bookings. Because of this, we cannot allocate any additional bookings for the Hall until approximately 6-12 months in advance of an event, subject to availability.
You can register your interest in hire of the Hall at any time. An outline of the project should be submitted in writing or email indicating your preferred dates or time period. Please include details of the promoter, artists, repertoire, the orchestra or choir involved, the number of performers and technical complexity of the show. We require this information from the outset to ascertain how your concert may best fit into the programme, both artistically and logistically.
The venue hire fee is designed to meet the requirements of a standard classical concert, and does not include technical provision.
Please see the downloads outlining technical and touring packages designed to meet the sound and lighting needs for most contemporary shows. If you prefer, technical services may also be booked on an individual basis from our rate card - please discuss your requirements with your allocated Barbican Production Manager.
We can also facilitate classical rehearsal sessions on the stage subject to availability. Please contact Adam Davison - Concerts Planning Co-ordinator on 020 7382 7096 or email@example.com for costs and availability.

The use of the Barbican’s Box Office is included in your hire fee and all tickets for your event must be issued through the Barbican.
Once you have booked your concert date, you will need to complete a box office set up form with all your ticketing information. Please discuss your pricing requirements with the Concerts Co-ordinator, who can advise on available options.
