Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia (U*)

Family Film Club

A bear walks with a little mouse on his shoulder, looking happy.

The charming bear and mouse pair return for another adventure and this time they’re returning to Ernest’s music-loving roots.

When Ernest’s beloved violin (his Stradi-bear-ius, geddit?!) is broken, loyal friend Celestine heads off into the mountains to find the only person who can fix the instrument, an artist living in Ernest’s hometown.

Ernest follows hot on her heels and soon the two friends discover that something very strange is going on in Gibberitia – someone has banned all music in the formerly tuneful town – and it’s up to the dynamic duo to find why.

This delightfully animated story is for both fans of the original movie as well as those new to Ernest and Celestine – a gentle treat perfect young film fans trying out international cinema for the first time.
