Duncan Lewis

Architecture on Stage

Gites Ruraux, 1997. Duncan Lewis & Édouard François

After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Duncan Lewis began his career in Japan, working with Team Zoo and Shiro Kuramata.

He moved to France in 1990, where he collaborated with architects Jacques Hondelatte, Lacaton Vassal and Édouard François before founding Scape Architecture in Bordeaux in 2000. A consistent preoccupation of Lewis's work has been the integration of architecture and vegetation - a concern most recently demonstrated by Ekko, a multi-unit apartment building recently completed in Bordeaux.
