Join activist Polka Dot in this urgent conversation with Ukrainian LGBTQ+ representatives as they discuss the current crisis, how we can help and the specific challenges facing queer Ukrainians.
Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has inflamed pre-existing issues for LGBTQ+ Eastern Europeans including state-backed homophobia and transphobia, limited medical supplies for trans people and no legal protection from religious based hate crime.
Polish drag queen and co-founder of Slavic performance collective Slav 4 U Polka Dot/Robert Kocur will host this Instagram Live conversation with guests including Ukrainian drag queen and TV presenter Himera, director of Kyiv Pride Lenny Emson and Tymur Levchuk, a representative from Fulcrum UA - one of the largest national LGBT organisations in Ukraine.
Follow us at @BarbicanCentre on Instagram to watch this conversation on Thu 10 Mar, 19:30 (UK time)
