The veteran songwriter Gilbert O'Sullivan performs a career-spanning solo evening to celebrate the release of his latest album Driven.
With kitchen-sink lyrics and a pervading melodic sensibility, his songs are sometimes funny, often poignant and always captivating. Here, they are stripped back – alone at the piano, O’Sullivan reaches through his back catalogue, picking favourites from an outstanding career.
O’Sullivan is enjoying something of a late-career flourish – his self-titled 2018 album cracked the UK top 20; Driven, coming out in summer 2022, picks up on that creative momentum. Tonight, these new wonders are presented alongside classics such as ‘Alone Again (Naturally)’, ‘Clair’ and ‘Nothing Rhymed’.
