Reclaim the Frame

Wild Rose trailer

Rising star Jessie Buckley gives a charming, star-making performance in this story about a young mother from Glasgow dreaming of a life in Nashville.

Rose-Lynn Harlan (Buckley) is a great country singer. Unfortunately, she’s also an ex-con with an electronic tag, two young children to support and a disapproving mother (Julie Walters). And, she’s based in Glasgow.

Following this special screening, there will be a discussion hosted by Oscar-winning producer and the director of Birds' Eye View, Mia Bays. She will be joined by the writer of Wild Rose, Nicole Taylor (BAFTA winner for Three Girls) and producer Faye Ward (Wild Rose, Stan & Ollie, The Crown).

At the end of the Q&A, Be Manzini will read her poetry in tribute to the themes of the film. Be is a Southern African-British poet and facilitator who's work spans creative writing, theatre, journalism and film. She is the Director of Caramel Film Club, a platform that screens the work of Black actors and directors.
