Parent & Baby Screening: Long Shot (15)

Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen on a couch

This unlikely revisionist romcom sees Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen falling for each other on the campaign trail.

"Sometimes, the funniest and most feminist thing a man — or a movie — can do is stop pretending that everything is fine." - Anne Helen Peterson on Long Shot

Fred Flarsky (Rogen) is the gifted liberal journalist with a propensity for trouble. Charlotte Field (Theron) is Secretary of State, one of the most influential women in the world. Playing out against the backdrop of tongue-in-cheek satire, the two reconnect and romance sparks.

Rogen and Theron elevate this romantic comedy with their easy chemistry and expert comic timing, skirting around the genre's more hackneyed tropes to dig into what it means to be a woman in politics negotiating the currency of 'likeability'.
