Kate Rusby at Christmas

Kate Rusby dressed as an angel holding a ukelele and staring into the distance

Pull up a seat by the fireside, grab a mince pie and let Kate Rusby take you back to the Christmas of her childhood.

Over the last twenty-odd years Kate Rusby’s expressive vocals and sharp Yorkshire wit have made her one of the country’s favourite folk musicians. A Mercury prize nominee and BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year, she is renowned as one of the finest interpreters of folksong and as an emotive original songwriter – melding old and new so that you can barely see the join.

These ingredients especially sparkle during the festive season, with her ‘mastery of the art of Christmas songs’ (The Guardian) on display across the country with her annual concerts. Singing a mix of carols and traditional songs from her native Yorkshire, she promises a warm and inviting evening alongside her band – joined in time-honoured Rusby Christmas tradition with a brass quintet.
