Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition 2018 Final

London Symphony Orchestra

Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition

Three finalists tackle a daring programme in the hopes of being crowned winner and named LSO Assistant Conductor.

Be the first to see the stars of the future as they compete in the Grand Final of the biennial Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition. Created by Donatella Flick in 1990, the competition helps talented young conductors establish an international conducting career, bridging the gap between training and professional life – with previous winners including LSO Principal Guest Conductor François-Xavier Roth.

The three finalists will be judged by a panel of internationally renowned performers, and will conduct a challenging programme of some of the most iconic orchestral repertoire. For the first time in the competition they will also be joined onstage by a soloist, with Vadim Repin performing Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto.

Jury:
Lennox Mackenzie
Sian Edwards
Tadaaki Otaka

François-Xavier Roth
Yan Pascal Tortelier
