A motor-racing drama based on the incredible true story of an automotive visionary and his driver.

Directed by James Mangold (Walk the Line, Logan) Le Man '66 charts the success of American automotive designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and notorious British race-driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale) as they fight to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Co.

Battling personal and professional demons Shelby and Miles reach a climactic moment in 1966 when they go head-to-head against the race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the infamous French race, 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This is a thrilling underdog story with incredible race sequences and gripping performances from Matt Damon and Christian Bale.

Nominated for Best Picture.

Review

  • ‘Even if you’re not a motorhead, chances are you’ll be thrilled by this high-velocity bromance, powered by zesty acting and Mangold’s meticulous direction‘
  • ‘Bale works wonders as Miles, crafting a textured character out of dialogue that is swimming in droll Brit slang and endless cups of tea‘
