Barbican Box Learning Resource

“If you could choose one object that has empowered you in your artistic practice, what would it be and why?”

Take Barbican Box Music into your classroom, with free music activities, inspired by objects chosen from artists from across the Barbican 2022 contemporary music programme and the theme of Empowerment.

Aimed at KS 3 & 4, these free videos provide you with a practical tool to use in your classroom, linking to the music national curriculum, particularly composition.

Artists from the Barbican music contemporary programme were asked ‘If you were to choose one object that has empowered your artistic practice what would it be and why?’  The objects chosen have then inspired the following activities for you to carry out with your students, enabling you to create original music together.
