Guildhall Jazz Orchestra

The Dankworth and Eddie Harvey Awards, offered to composers under the age of 29, are administered and funded by The Musicians’ Company with the support of The Wavendon Foundation and friends and family of Eddie Harvey. There are two Dankworth Composition Awards – one for big band and one for small ensemble.

The Eddie Harvey Jazz Arranger’s Award – open to arrangers of any age – was instituted in memory of the outstanding jazz performer, arranger and educationalist, and The Musicians’ Company assumed responsibility for the competition in 2017.

This special live-streamed event will feature the presentation of the awards before the Guildhall Jazz Orchestra, directed by Scott Stroman, perform the three winning works. The musicians will also be joined by celebrated saxophonist Cennet Jönsson to perform his stunning Tarantula Suite.
