La Chimera (15)

A man is surrounded by a group of people, and looks out with a shocked expression.

Josh O'Connor digs himself in to a mess in this arthouse 80s drama about a troupe of Italian grave robbers.

Josh O'Connor (Challengers, The Crown) is astounding as an archaeologist known for stealing buried Etruscan treasures across the Tuscan countryside, alongside a charming troupe of grave robbers.

Blending poetic arthouse imagery with romantic drama, La Chimera is a deliciously playful yet tense story of how grief affects us.

Italian director Alice Rohrwacher's previous films Heavenly Body and The Wonders both showed at Cannes, winning her a Grand Prix. Rohrwacher's work delicately balances between genuine playfulness and the human condition.

The film weaves past and present together, slipping from Italian to English, in the hazy Tuscan sun.
