Cinema 2
Now 90 years of age the venerable and venerated, Bahamaninan born Sidney Poitier is justly celebrated as one of the greatest screen actors in US history. His ground-breaking performances, particularly in the 1950s and 60's, changed Hollywood forever; he was the first black actor to win a Best Actor Academy Award (for 1965s Lilies of The Field) and became a genuine movie star. He is also renowned not only as a performer but a film director, political activist and humanitarian.

Continuing his Hollywood Legends talk series Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London, looks at Poitier's remarkable life and career, lavishly illustrated with clips and slides.

Ticket includes a complimentary drink. This talk lasts approximately 60 minutes and is followed by a separate screening of In The Heat of the Night. Tickets for the screening are available here at 6 for Members.
