Young Changemakers: The Lift Off

Specifically, young people from backgrounds or with identities which are often underrepresented within the audiences and workforces of large cultural institutions.

Selected from over 250 applications, seven Young Changemakers worked with the Barbican team between November 2022 – July 2023. They were asked to engage with and interrogate a series of co-created questions related to the Barbican’s Creative Vision, plans for the upcoming building renewal, and our organisational culture.

This exhibition is intended to provide an introduction to the Changemakers, an insight into their process, and a snapshot of the recommendations which emerged. It is the start of a journey for the Barbican Centre, and one which will result in positive change for the organisation.
