Duckie is an independent production company creating experimental cultural interventions that blur the boundaries of theatre, live art, club culture and other traditional holding forms in an attempt to develop new models of the live artistic and community practices.
Self confessed ‘Purveyors of Progressive Working Class Entertainment’, Duckie lovingly take from the historical canon of English popular theatrical forms - music hall and radical variety - and update them for the 21st century.
Bridging the gap between live art and light entertainment, Duckie has specialised in producing new wave performance shows in innovative formats.
They have run their popular weekly gay clubnight every Saturday at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern since 1995.
Their last smash hit show ‘C’est Vauxhall!’ started life at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, before transferring to the Barbican as ‘C’est Barbican!’ and won 4 awards including an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment Show. The show toured to the Sydney Opera House as well as Berlin, Thessaloniki, Birmingham and Manchester.
Duckie are fixed term revenue funded clients of Arts Council England.
