Bedtime Instructions

Dear Audience Sleeper,
Thank you for booking into the world’s first theatrical sleepover and bed & breakfast show. As it is such an unusual event, we are sending you some information on the show.

Times

  • Guests are encouraged to arrive at 10pm for check-in at The Pit foyer, Level -2 at the Barbican Centre.
  • The event will end by 9am the following morning.
  • You are welcome to arrive earlier and have a drink in The Pit bar.

    What to bring

  • Please bring with you your PJs or nightie, slippers, towel, toothbrush and toiletries.
  • A change of clothes for the next day and a dressing gown are optional.
  • You do not need to bring bedding as sheets are changed daily by Toast, our lovely sponsor!

    What will happen

  • When everyone has arrived you will be taken to the backstage dressing rooms to change into your jim-jams. Men and women have separate changing rooms, though the rooms themselves are open plan. Where possible, we advise you not to bring any valuables along with you. You are requested to leave your belongings and outdoor shoes in the left luggage, which will be secure. Once everyone has changed you will be taken into The Pit theatre and tucked up into bed.
  • Lullaby is a communal experience - you will be sleeping alongside 50 other people. Earplugs and eye masks will be provided!
  • The show is a couple of hours long with an interval. The show will gradually wind down as you fall asleep.
  • There will be low level lighting during the night - the porters can guide you to the loos if required.
  • In the morning you will be woken gently at 7.30am and breakfast will be served shortly after. Everyone will be served boiled eggs and soldiers and a continental option.
  • Showers are available; men and women’s showers are separate and private.
  • Check-out is at 9am.

    Guidelines

    • Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building. Smokers can have a last puff outdoors in the interval.
    • Cameras are not allowed.
    • We ask that you wear slippers to move around the space.
    • There is no mobile reception or access to Wi-Fi in the Pit.

    Email special requirements

  • If you have any access requirements please do email us in advance at lullaby@barbican.org.uk
  • If you have any specific allergies regarding bedding please email us.
  • If you would like to sleep near other guests who have also booked for the same night, again let us know in advance and we will do our best to allocate your beds close together.
  • There are special parking discounts if you would like to travel by car, please ask the porter upon arrival.
