Hip-Hop and reggae rhythms from the heart of the favela fuse with the deep funk sounds of James Brown in AfroReggae's latest sensation Favelization.

Rio’s cultural warriors are back with a brand new show accentuating the positive. Following a successful year performing across India, China, United States and Europe, AfroReggae returns to the Barbican with an explosion of percussion, providing a pulsating peripheral vision that sees art where others see no solution.

Favelization will feature sounds and images from young performers in East London, inspired by AfroReggae.

Performance time: 20:00
Running time: 135 mins/no interval
Latecomers will not be admitted

Commissioned by barbicanbite08
Presented in association with People's Palace Projects

Supported by Arts Council England.
