Yukio Ninagawa returns to bite in the Barbican's 25th birthday year with a new production of Coriolanus. Shakespeare's tale of a warrior leader ultimately brought down by his pride and contempt for the people is presented on an epic scale. A cast of over 40 includes many longstanding Ninagawa Company members and acclaimed Japanese actors including Toshiaki Karasawa as Coriolanus and Kayoko Shiraishi as Volumnia, making this production an apt celebration of Ninagawa's longstanding association with bite.
