Grigory Sokolov

It is with great regret that we have to announce that Grigory Sokolov is unable to perform this recital.

This is due to problems with obtaining a visa for Mr Sokolov to perform in the UK after the introduction of new government regulations this year.  

We regret this situation which was entirely beyond our control.  However, we can assure you that everything possible was done by both ourselves and the artist’s agent to avoid the cancellation of the event.

As you can imagine the new regulations are of great concern to us here at the Barbican and we are considering making formal representations to the government.
