The Sveshnikov State Choir of Russia celebrates Russia's National Day reflecting the importance of choral art to the Russian people.

The programme highlights the strong cultural exchange and collaboration between Russia and the UK, with settings of poems by Shakespeare and other English poets, traditional Russian folk songs, excerpts from Shakespearian scores by Prokofiev, Khachaturian and Shostakovich, and a new interpretation of Elgar’s celebrated Salut d’amor. Plus a very special rendition of Lennon and McCartney’s ‘Yesterday’.
