We are sorry that Sam Parton will not be joining The Be Good Tanyas on their British tour. She hasn’t fully recovered from a car accident in September, and needs to focus on her recovery. Both she and the rest of the group feel that the tour should still go ahead, and singer, artist and ukulele player Caroline Ballhorn, a friend of the band from Vancouver, will be joining the tour instead.
Capturing hearts of fans and critics with their special mixture of deep country, American folk, old time blues and gospel, The Be Good Tanyas play with gorgeous instrumentation, stunning vocals and seamless harmonies. Their voices come out of the wilderness onto centre stage, with music that transcends their years and transports listeners from the past to the present.
Their new album A Collection (2000-2012), out on Nettwerk, is a 16-song career retrospective, including two new tracks ‘Little Black Bear’ and ‘Gospel Song’.
‘Three feisty angels…a confident, modern approach to a very traditional sound. Intimate, chilling but always entertaining’
‘Their music is a marvellous blend and the singing, musicianship and orchestration is simply top notch’★★★★Telegraph
