This band of under-18 jazz musicians from across East London was set up during the first JLCO residency back in 2010 and was so inspiring it never stopped. They have continued to appear at high profile events, including the London Jazz Festival for two consecutive years and under the direction of Paul Griffiths, the group compose their own pieces, as well as playing jazz standards. Tonight they will perform newly created pieces inspired by the Abyssinian Mass, working closely with Jazz at Lincoln Centre Faculty musicians who will also perform alongside them.
