Darkly funny, slightly surreal and at times deliberately uncomfortable to watch, this is a bravura first feature from award winning animator Bill Plymton.

Unpleasant as they come, our barfly (anti) hero is vicious, lewd and crude, until he wakes up one morning with freshly sprouted pair of angel’s wings on his back and an uncontrollable desire to do good – in gross conflict with his very nature.

With a brilliantly evocative soundtrack, Plymton’s noir-esque world is stunningly realised.

US 2008 Dir. Bill Plympton 78 min.

Trapped in the cavernous (and rather dull) realm of limbo, a dead man’s attempts to sneak into the afterlife become more extreme with each painful failure. Brilliantly inventive and very funny.
UK 2008 Dir. Robert Robinson 7 min.
