'Standing ovations at this year’s Cannes and Annecy film festivals for his new feature Azur & Azmar show that the French animator’s previous, acclaimed film – the dazzling Kiriku and the Sorceress – was not a lucky accident. This man just makes beautiful cinema: cinema whose every frame could be hung on an art gallery wall. ' - The Financial Times

In a magical land, two brothers set out on a dangerous quest…

Once upon a time, two children were nursed by the same woman –Azur, the blonde, blue-eyed son of a nobleman, and Asmar, the dark-skinned and dark-eyed child of the nurse. The boys grew up together, until fate cruelly separated them.

Some years later, the brothers, embark on a quest to find the legendary Fairy that figured in their mother’s bedtime stories.

Michel Ocelot has created a lavish Arabian Nights-style world, in which the brothers explore magical lands brimming with danger.
