French auteur Bruno Dumont turns his hand at comedy with this surreal slapstick caper, set in the north of France.

Its summer 1910 and the eccentric van Peteghems’ have returned to their coastal villa overlooking the picturesque Slack Bay, for their seasonal summer break. Their leisurely rhythm of walking, sailing and bathing is disrupted with the arrival of Machin and Malfoy, two inspectors who are investigating the disappearance of several tourists from local beaches. As their investigation develops, chaos descends on Slack Bay and the macabre mysteries mount with comic effect.

A witty and eccentric romp with an outstanding cast including Juliette Binoche, Fabrice Luchini and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
